The ECMO, the machine that supports your lungs, is still necessary.In recent days, you underwent a tracheostomy\u2014a hole in your neck that allows you to breathe; the tube in your mouth that was causing you so much discomfort has been removed.The medications that keep you sedated are still necessary, but when I entered the room, I had the impression that you could hear me: you move your eyelids when I speak to you, but you do not open your eyes.Your forehead is also a bit “furrowed”… perhaps you can hear me!<\/p>\n\n

I explained to you that you cannot move your arms and legs due to the number of days you have been immobile in bed.I had to remove mucus from the hole in your neck; you have the strength to cough, but you are unable to expel the secretions.The attending physician is always in contact with your wife and keeps her updated on the situation.<\/p>\n\n
