The hospital diary was written by the nursing staff while they were caring for me during my hospitalization.
For most of this period I was not conscious as I was intubated and sedated.
The first page of the diary contains a brief introduction with the “instructions for use” described by the healthcare facility where I was hospitalized (Cardiocentro), which in my opinion is important for interpreting and understanding the meaning of the diary.
In the following pages I report exactly what was written in the diary by the nurses who cared for me during this period.
My family members did not contribute to writing the diary as visits were not possible due to COVID-19 restrictions that prevented relatives from visiting.
Note: The diary is handwritten; I transcribed it on the computer, but in some cases the handwriting was not very clear, so I hope I have faithfully reproduced what was described by my caregivers.
