Good morning Mr. Achermann,
This is Maura again.
This morning we turned you onto your back.
That is, we repositioned you supine in the bed. There were five of us to perform this maneuver safely (myself, two doctors, and two physical therapists).
Having remained in the prone position for so many hours, your face is a bit swollen, but this is normal, and by remaining semi-reclined in bed, the swelling will decrease.
We checked carefully and you have not developed any lesions.
Today we began to reduce the sedation to assess your awakening in the coming hours, hoping that you will be comfortable.
You still have significant support from the ventilator and are sleeping. Everything is stable. Your heart is also beating more slowly.
Tomorrow we will assess whether to place you in the prone position again for several hours.
Stay strong, we are working to help you improve!
Maura
