Good morning Mr. Achermann,
I am Maura, your nurse today.
This morning after your “beauty care,” the doctors and I decided to place you in the prone position.
As Stefania already wrote to you in recent days, in this position we are able to ventilate the basal and posterior parts of your lungs better.
You are sleeping and we turned you with five people (myself, a colleague, the physiotherapist, and two doctors).
We hope we managed to find you the most comfortable position possible with pillows and supports, since you will need to remain prone for several hours.
Your heart is beating a bit more slowly and your facial features are relaxed.
For today we do not plan to reduce the sedation or let you wake up, precisely to help you better tolerate the position.
Stay strong!
Maura
