Good morning Mr. Mirko,
It’s me again, Stefania.
I am not taking care of you today, but I am here because I helped to prone you.
Basically, we placed you face down.
Your lungs, in the posterior part (those that “face” the spine) need to be “ventilated” more: the doctors and we nurses hope that this position can benefit you.
It was not a simple maneuver; there were three nurses, two doctors, and one physical therapist.
What we did was first of all inform you of what was happening, then we administered medications to sedate you further, and finally we assessed the position, the support points on the bed, the possibility of removing secretions from the tracheostomy… in short, many things…
I hope this position is not too uncomfortable for you, but to be safe, the medications to help you sleep have been increased.
There are many secretions and we are trying to suction them.
Stay strong Mirko, we are giving it our all!
I am rooting for you.
Have a good day.
Stefania
